General characterization:
The Sectorial of Culture in Antilla develops some events in the year to highlight and preserve the identity of the territory, in which the movement of amateur artists, the literary workshop José Antonio Ramos, the myths and legends of the territory, and others are integrated.
For this reason, the Antillean Poetry Festival, organized by the Casa de Cultura Adelaida del Mármol, takes place on January 20 and 21 as part of the founding or naming festivities of Antilla as a municipality, with competitions in the corresponding literary genres.
In February, the Escaramujo event of the José Martí Art Brigade is held; in the second half of March, the Adolfo Llauradó territorial theater event, promoting the art of the stage in the locality; and in April, the children's interpretation contest Cantándole al Sol (Singing to the Sun) is held.
For May, the awaited Day of Culture from 9 to 12, this date is chosen because of the different historical events that took place. The events Fotos de Mi Localidad, Historia Local y Daniel, sponsored by the René Ramos Latour Municipal Museum, take place here; the Salón de las Artes Plásticas "Maicabó" is held, where the Eduardo Abela Art Gallery is the leading institution. Finally, the "Celia Sánchez Manduley" Municipal Library organizes two events, the Nemecio Cárcases poetry contest and the Meñique children's literature contest.
In the months of July and August, within the summer period, there are the summer courses and the Festivals of Interpretation and Dance Couples and Casino Wheels. In September, on the 7th and 8th, the event of myths and legends "Myths of the Sea", framed in the liturgical activities to celebrate the anniversary of the apparition of the image of the Virgin of Charity.
The Cuban Culture Day is celebrated from October 10 to 20. Also in November, on November 6 and 7, the dance event "Juan Muñoz Carballosa in memoriam". And alternately every year, the Festival of the Musical Creator or the Children's Interpretation Festival is held.

Socio-Cultural Projects of the locality:
In order to link the community and art, all developed in neighborhoods and communities with special characteristics, and where cultural work is significant and remarkable. Some of these are:
Club de la Década "Submarino Amarillo": located in the Flora neighborhood, it is made up of people of different age groups with an inclination to the music of the 60s and 70s. They conduct workshops, talks, lectures, festive activities and others. It has been created for 5 years.
Afrorumba: Artistic unit of national category, holder of different prizes and recognitions, among them the prize Memoria Viva, that grants the Center of Studies Juan Marinello, besides being dictated the Day of the Antillean Culture and to participate in provincial events. Its mission is to promote the taste and appreciation of rumba as a musical genre and its different folkloric currents.
Super Son: Residents of the rural coastal community of Barrancones, they are all amateur musicians, who come from the same family. With more than 30 years of creation, although they have changed their artistic name on several occasions, they have maintained the same desire: to awaken the taste for music, to entertain the dances of the neighborhood and the municipality, to exchange with other amateurs and professionals and to defend the identity of their neighborhood.
