To love our neighbor has been a timeless summons, and although it is true that there are those who, with their way of being, complicate the commandment, at least we should respect them. If this respect is joined with solidarity, then coexistence is more harmonious. Julio César Sarmiento González loves, respects and shows solidarity with all those close to him. He is the pastor of the Monte Feria Methodist Church, which belongs to Feria 5, in the municipality of Antilla.

It turns out that Julio César carries out a community project aimed at economically and spiritually assisting vulnerable sectors of the population in this area. His name is "We Are Not Alone", and it is a true accompaniment to children, the elderly, pregnant women...and all those who need his helping hand.

"It is a project of much love, to improve the quality of life of our community.

When they bring free bread we buy it for the children's breakfast; on Sundays we prepare lunch, and not only for those who visit our church, we also offer it to the families; we donate medicines under medical prescription; we collaborate with the schools, the SAF dining rooms, with the elderly who live alone...in short, we spread love throughout the community, even to those who do not share our faith".

It is no secret that we live in very difficult times, times that sometimes put our human condition to the test, turning us into irrational beings. And it is then that we meet people like Julio Cesar, who redeem us, who remind us that we are not so alone, not so broken, and that the world is a nicer place if we fill it with love.
